Knowing a skin type is first step as there are different sunscreen for each skin type. Oily skin is shiny all over face. Dry Feels tight especially after washing. Comb: oily T zone with normal cheeks. Sensitive:often red or dry. Normal:not too dry or oily.

Oily skin: gel/water-based, sunscreens. Look for "non-comedogenic labels.  Dry skin:cream-based sunscreens with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid / glycerin. Sensitive skin: Mineral sunscreens  Combination skin: Use a lightweight, non-greasy formula.

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) indicates how well the sunscreen protects against UVB rays. SPF 15: Blocks ~93% of UVB rays — good for occasional sun exposure.  SPF 30: Blocks ~97% — recommended for daily use. SPF 50+: Offers more protection — ideal for prolonged outdoor activities.

choose Broad-Spectrum sunscreen  This means it protects against both UVA (which causes aging and wrinkles) and UVB rays (which cause burns and skin cancers).

Choose a water-resistant sunscreen. Note that "water-resistant" doesn’t mean "waterproof." Reapply every 40–80 minutes as per label instructions.

Chemical Sunscreens (e.g., avobenzone, oxybenzone, octocrylene): Absorb UV rays and convert them into heat. Lightweight and usually invisible on skin. Mineral Sunscreens (e.g., zinc oxide, titanium dioxide): Reflect UV rays. Ideal for sensitive skin, kids, or post-procedure skin. Avoid ingredients like oxybenzone if you have sensitive skin.
